Passenger safety – a recognized expertise
Passenger safety is our top priority. For over 150 years, we've led the way in passenger protection – consistently delivering advanced solutions and installation techniques that set the standard.
Performance – robust components for any scenario
Schindler 9300 escalators for public transport are engineered for long-lasting performance. Each part is meticulously developed based on thorough research and meets high-quality standards to withstand heavy traffic loads in different usage conditions.
Maximized truss protection
The optimized truss design with open steel profiles and protection by double-layer coating or hot-dip galvanization provides long-lasting corrosion resistance. The vibration-isolated end supports prevent sound transmission to the building.
Long-lasting main shaft design
Our escalator main shaft design improves performance and durability with its two-part structure: a fixed steel axle and a rotating hollow shaft. This separation of flexural and torsional forces helps maintain optimal functionality in high-traffic areas.
Effective braking system to reduce the risk of falling
Our innovative braking system is designed to minimize the risk of passengers falling during emergency stops. The system adapts the brake torque to the direction of travel, enhancing safety for all passengers.
Dependable drive chain, step chain and rollers
Our step chain and drive chain are designed with a high breaking load and low pin pressure paired with durable rollers, to ensure a comfortable travel experience for passengers.
Performing in all climate conditions
All components are designed to withstand humidity, heat, ice, salt, and sand. The optionally galvanized truss and components, heating features, and microprocessor-controlled chain lubrication guarantee reliable operation in any environment.
Double monitoring and control of key safety parameters
The MICONIC F microprocessor controller has two independent safety circuits to monitor the essential safety parameters.
Triple control of speed and unintentional change of direction
The speed and traffic direction are monitored on the fly wheel, step band and handrail. This triple monitoring effectively prevents overspeed and change of direction.
Anti-fall barrier
Improper use of escalators happens occasionally. Our innovative anti-fall product complements the existing balustrade, providing an additional layer of protection. By increasing the barrier height, the risk of passengers falling off the escalator is significantly reduced.
Seamless experience – passenger-centric design
Our escalators deliver rides that aren't only safe, but also smooth and comfortable.
Ergonomic and reinforced handrail
The new ergonomic handrail design combines high flexibility with strength and increased breaking load to ensure a long service life. Even small hands can comfortably hold the handrail.
Standing safe
Innovative features such as slip-resistant steps, with optional screw-free safety demarcations, aesthetic skirt brushes, and skirt anti-friction coating ensure a safe foot hold.
Break-resistant aluminum compact steps
Steps are one of the most important safety components. The in-house produced aluminum mono-block step provides significantly higher break resistance at substantially lower step weight compared to multipart compound steel steps.
Effective passenger guidance
The Schindler 9300 is designed to guide passengers safely to the next floor. Full visual guidance is provided by moving LED direction indicators, fire-resistant step demarcations, yellow signal combs, and LED-step-gap lighting.
Continuous handrail sanitization
Handrails are among the most frequently touched surfaces on escalators and moving walks. Schindler Ultra UV continuously sanitizes the handrail using integrated UV-C technology, helping provide a cleaner and more reassuring journey for every passenger.
Sustainability – making efficiency the standard
We’re committed to delivering environmentally friendly solutions that align with your sustainability goals. We provide Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) verified by a third party and recognized by green building certification schemes, including LEED, DGNB, BREEAM, and Green Mark.
Our aluminum steps with minimized CO2 footprint
Our aluminum steps and pallets, produced in-house, are among the most durable in the industry. They can meet even the most specific requirements.
Advanced drive systems
Our advanced drive system maximizes energy efficiency and enables higher rise and extended service life. It integrates motors with IE3 premium efficiency or IE4 super premium efficiency alongside high-efficiency helical gears. An energy efficiency class of above A+++ can be achieved, exceeding ISO 25745-3 standards.
Smart operation management
Save energy when there are few passengers. When the system detects low traffic, it switches to ECO Mode – reducing energy consumption by up to 25% at nominal speed. Stop-and-go or crawling speed operation saves energy further, and downward travel generates additional energy.
Digital Services – constant equipment monitoring
We do more than install escalators. We are with you every step of the way, throughout the years, providing the highest quality service and modernizing your escalators when necessary.
Our sensors and controllers communicate operational and health data through primary protocols. This connectivity allows easy integration with building management systems and control centers, improving monitoring and efficiency.
Equipment remote monitoring
With our connected units, you can remotely monitor key parameters such as energy consumption, vibration, and sound levels, all tailored to your specific requirements. This advanced monitoring capability not only helps in optimizing performance but also aids in predictive maintenance, reducing downtime and operational costs.
Predictive information
Sensors supervise the health status of critical components within your equipment. By tracking those indicators, these sensors deliver valuable insights into the condition of each unit, allowing for the proactive prediction of maintenance and repair needs, in order to achieve best availability of the units.
